Position: Senior Manager, Wealth & Investment Management

Education: The ideal candidate should have an undergraduate degree in business, computer science, accounting, finance or a related field from a recognized college or university. An advanced degree such as an MBA is preferred.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to grow and develop BearingPoint’s Wealth & Investment Management practice group, with the focus entirely on offering a broad range of business consulting and information technology strategy and operations services to traditional investment management firms, alternative investment management firms, prime brokerage operations of the investment banks, retail brokerage firms, traditional and electronic exchanges, and correspondent clearing operations.

The role involves the following responsibilities:

• Developing client relationships through high level financial services industry contacts.
• Providing thought leadership in this discipline through an in-depth understanding of strategy, risk management and compliance, operations consulting, and system integration for leading investment management firms and wealth managers.
• Maintaining a keen sense of awareness of industry trends and competition in order to leverage services provided and to aggressively grow the practice.
• Establishing visibility with industry leaders through publishing articles and speaking at industry forums.
• Recruiting, developing and mentoring practice members at all levels.
• Positioning the practice in the industry to develop strong brand name identity.
• Working effectively with other financial services practices/market units within BearingPoint’s various service groups and other industry market units to leverage existing competencies and client relationships.
• Ensuring that the Wealth & Investment Management group’s reputation is enhanced, and protecting it from damage by unprofessional actions.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate should be a senior manager within a top tier firm with specific expertise in wealth management and investment management. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of practice building and management and will be an experienced and effective manager of professionals at all levels.

The senior manager should have the following qualifications:
• Deep and broad financial services industry knowledge of various markets, competitors, future trends, and service offerings.
• Extensive contacts with executives in financial services companies and be adept at marketing and selling BearingPoint’s services at the most senior levels in client organizations.
• Broad consulting experience within investment management and wealth management on a wide range of functional business issues, including operations, strategy and technology.
• Ability to think strategically and assist in the organization and management of a multi-disciplinary team and the ability to sell additional services to clients.
• A proven record of success in both academic and professional pursuits, established outstanding results, and a record of rapid advancement in every challenge undertaken.
• A proven record in directly generating and sustaining high impact client relationships (with top tier financial services clients) yielding a meaningful level of revenue/margin contribution.

Personal Characteristics: The senior manager should have a vision and strategy towards contributing toward building BearingPoint into the leading Investment Management practice within the financial services sector. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the following characteristics/traits:
